Motorcycle Helmets buying guide
A motorcycle helmet is the single most important piece of safety gear you'll buy. In the UK every helmet sold must meet the ECE 22.06 (or older 22.05) safety standard, and many also carry an independent SHARP rating of one to five stars based on impact testing. Look for a snug fit that doesn't shift when you shake your head, and replace any helmet that has taken a knock.
Full-face helmets offer the most protection and are quietest at speed; flip-up (modular) helmets trade a little safety for convenience; open-face and adventure styles suit specific riding. Moto Miser compares live prices on the same helmet across UK retailers so you can see who's cheapest before you buy.
